DESIGNED TO LOOK.

MADE TO BE NOTICED.

Hello, I’m Jos Brölmann, creator of Nosybirds. I want to tell you about the design of Nosybirds.

It all started with a little drawing of a bird by four year old daughter. Over time, that little bird grew into a character of its own. Turning that drawing into a real object was quite a journey. I wanted to keep its curious spirit while giving it a look of its own. Nosybirds had to be small enough to fit almost everywhere, without taking over the place. Easy to spot, but never shouting for attention. So, colors are important. I chose striking combinations to make them stand out and give each bird personality. Simple shapes, bold colors and shiny black eyes. Nothing unnecessary.

And of course their way of looking. Upward over their shoulder or with their head bent back. Three different and recognizable poses, each with its own character. All equally curious.

I wanted Nosybirds to be more than just nice objects. They should fit into everyday life, on your desk, a bookshelf or a meeting table. Little design objects that catch your eye and perhaps make you look twice. And the best part. They don’t beep, flash or send notification. No batteries, no updates and no off switch. They just keep looking. Day and night. Curious as ever.
